Q: What type of entity is Net Impact Minneapolis Professional Chapter?
A: Net Impact Minneapolis is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit that works with the Net Impact national organization to give life to our shared mission: “To inspire, educate, and equip individuals to use the power of business to create a more socially and environmentally sustainable world.”
Q: What does the Board do?
A: In short, everything. We are a working Board, there is no staff, so everyone brings their passion for sustainability and social impact to bring to life the board members ideas for events and initiatives. A few of the things we did over the past two years: held an event at Surly Brewing in conjunction with USGBC and Global Shapers, held our fundraiser where we brought together 75 individuals interested in social entrepreneurship and the future of food, held an event on MN’s newly passed Benefit Corporation legislation, and B Corps, launched the sustainability mentoring program, and lots of work on the national conference.
Q: How many people are on the Board?
A: There are 4 officers (president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary) and up to 9 at-large members for a maximum size of 13.
Q: Who is eligible to serve on the Board?
A: Members in good standing are eligible to serve on the Board. This means you must be a member of the National Net Impact organization and have the Net Impact Minneapolis Professional Chapter designated as your chapter.
Q: What if I’m interested in serving, but I’m not a member yet?
A: There is still time to join. Just go here to join. Remember to designate the Minneapolis Professional Chapter as your chapter.
