2018 to 2019 Leadership Team:

Alix Dvorak – President
Alix partners with people and organizations that are working for a world that works for all. She’s a is a consultant that builds capacity through organization effectiveness, program and project management. Her broad portfolio of work and diverse set of clients have included supporting Central American small business artisans to form a cooperative to strengthen the local economy; to program and change management for a global innovation program with business leaders at a major multi-national corporation; to a start-up creating a new smart, digital money that brings real value back to real people and businesses. With experience in non-profits, government and for-profit business, she believes in the power of partnerships and systemic solutions and, toward that end, is the Board President of Net Impact Minneapolis, a non-profit that uses the power of business as an important lever for a more socially and environmentally sustainable world.

Carolyn Vanous – Vice President
Carolyn currently works for 3M Company as a Global Sourcing Manager, after having spent 2.5 years living and working in Singapore. She is passionate about connecting sustainably-focused individuals in the Twin Cities with the network and resources they can use to make an impact in their industry. In her free time, Carolyn loves exploring new places, both locally and around the world, being active, and spending time sailing, paddle boarding & kitesurfing on Minnesota lakes.

Matt Ladhoff – Treasurer
Matt is a Global Social Investment Specialist at 3M and is currently responsible for managing 3M’s corporate philanthropic activities related to their Signature Initiative focused on Next Generation Skills Development. Matt earned his MBA from Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and holds an undergraduate degree from Michigan State University. Matt is an eternal optimist and a life enthusiast who is focused on using business as a force for good.

Andrew Mueller – Communications
Andrew is a Senior Consultant at Target Corporation within Merchandise Strategy & Insights. He became involved in Net Impact in 2017 due to his interest in local and global social impact projects. Andrew has worked on a number of global economic development projects in countries like Uganda, Haiti and Honduras, and is passionate about leveraging personal passions and professional skills to make a positive impact.

Joe Bell – Secretary
Joe is a B2B marketing professional driven to make a positive impact in the for-profit business world. He has lived in five countries and four states, and has worked as a graphic designer, photojournalist, business owner and retail manager. When not at the office, you can usually find him riding a bike or playing board games.

Richard Harrington
Richard has been on the board of the Net Impact Twin Cities Professional chapter for 4 years; prior to this, he was president of the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School MBA chapter of Net Impact chapter. Prior to his MBA, Richard worked in scientific research, where he developed his passion for environmental sustainability. Richard currently works as a pricing consultant for a small firm in Boston.

Mackenzie Styrlund
MacKenzie is the Senior Program Owner for water on Target’s Property Management Energy & Sustainability team. She leads projects related to Target’s overall water management, usage, and conservation in direct operations while working to define and exceed their water conservation goals. MacKenzie wants to continue to make an impact outside of work and looks forward to leveraging Net Impact as a way to connect and educate others about sustainability initiatives within the MSP area. When she’s not at work or at Net Impact events, MacKenzie enjoys attending sporting events at the University of Minnesota (Go Gophers!) and running.

Brynn Albrecht
Brynn led the Best Buy Net Impact chapter for more than two years when she worked on Best Buy’s corporate sustainability team. She’s excited to stay engaged with Net Impact through the Minneapolis board and connect with other sustainability professionals in the Twin Cities. She is passionate about environmental sustainability and driving change through business. She currently works as a marketing manager for a company that sells used tech.

Jimmy Bettcher
Jimmy is the Director of Corporate Engagement and Volunteer Operations for Partners in Food Solutions. PFS is a consortium of world-class food companies (General Mills, Cargill, Hershey, Buhler, DSM, and Ardent Mills) that use their resources and employee skills to strengthen entrepreneurial food companies in Africa. Before PFS, Jimmy built global partnerships between Cummins and other multinationals to invest in education in emerging markets, managed an initiative to bring energy and opportunity to communities in India and Africa, and worked to strengthen bootstrapping entrepreneurs while living in Uganda. An Indiana native, Jimmy received his undergraduate degree from Notre Dame and an MBA from Indiana’s Kelley School of Business.
